Event Report
School Outreach Class
Using “Asahi no Mori,” which the Asahi Group has been protecting for over 80 years, we held an outreach class to help children learn the importance of preserving forests and think about what they can do themselves.
Overview of the School Outreach Class
Theme: “How can we create a future where both people and forests can smile together?”
Date and location: Visited a total of nine elementary and junior high schools in Osaka Prefecture between May 7 (Wed) and July 18 (Fri), 2025
Background behind visits
We visited schools to talk to students about efforts by the Asahi Group related to the Asahi Forest, which Group employees have been protecting for over 80 years. Through these efforts, we can help children, the generation that will lead the future, understand the relationship between forests and our daily lives, the importance of protecting forests, and similar topics.
During the classes, students learned about the significance of protecting forests and how they are connected to our daily lives, along with taking time to think about what they themselves can do to support such efforts.
Moreover, schools that participated in the classes were gifted castanets made from thinned wood taken from the Asahi Forest. These gifts are filled with the hope that the students will actually hold forest resources in their hands and be able to experience first-hand how these resources are carefully used and recycled.
Scenes from the day
The students listened carefully with bright eyes as they learned about the importance of protecting forests and how this is connected to our daily lives, then shared their thoughts with their friends.
Also, at schools where the castanets made from thinned wood were opened during the class, the sight of students enjoying the gifts of nature while actually smelling and touching the wood, and listening to the sounds it makes, was memorable.
It was a valuable opportunity to have the students experience with all five senses how forest resources are being used with care.
Concert
In hopes of a brighter future for both people and the Earth, a concert was held at the EXPO Hall “Shining Hat” featuring children who represent the future, connecting people and the Earth with smiles.

Background behind concert
“Expo Children’s Concert -Gifts of the Forest-” was held by the Asahi Group at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan EXPO Hall “Shining Hat” on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
The performers were nine groups of students from 12 elementary and junior high schools in Osaka Prefecture. The students, mainly from schools that participated in the School Outreach Class, put on a variety of musical performances, including a brass band and a chorus.
Along with theme songs from popular anime series, global hits, and grand pieces specially composed for brass bands or choruses, the concert also incorporated dance routines synched in time to the music and performances with castanets made from thinned wood, which linked the performances to activities related to the Asahi Forest.
The audience clapped along with the music, creating moments where people were connected with one another and with the planet through music.
Scenes from the day
The day was extremely hot, but despite the heat, the children performed their musical pieces sincerely and with a smile.
The nerves and concentration from performing on a big stage melded with the pure joy of making music, and the brilliance of each and every performer filled the entire hall. The audience was also pulled in by this energy, with everyone at the venue united as one.
We hope that this concert will be a lifelong memory for the children who performed at the event and all those who came to watch, as well as an opportunity to deepen their understanding of our hopes and activities.
The Asahi Group will continue carrying out activities for passing on a rich natural environment and smiles to future generations.
